Janesville police say a home in the 1200 block of Badger Street was evacuated about 3:30 p.m. Sunday when a cleaning company reported finding what appeared to be a military grenade.  Specialized technicians from the Dane County Bomb Squad entered the residence and collected the item.  An inspection determined the grenade had no functioning fuse system.  In a news release, Janesville police advise some explosive items are not easily recognizable and encourage any and all suspicious explosive-related activities be reported immediately.
