Authorities are investigating an apparent shooting reported on Milton’s east side.

A supervisor at the Rock County 911 dispatch center confirms police and fire departments were called to Plumb Street and Larch Lane in Milton at about 5:03 p.m. Tuesday for what was reported as a person down in the street who’d possibly been shot.

As of 7 p.m. Tuesday, authorities including Milton police and the Rock County Sheriff’s Office were at the scene investigating. Lakeside Fire and Rescue was called to the scene along with a second local fire department for support.

No other details were immediately available.

The location of the incident is about two blocks south of where police say they arrested a man earlier this month for shooting a gun at the ceiling of his Milton apartment unit, and firing a bullet up into another apartment unit. That shooting led to an hours-long standoff and a SWAT team response to the apartments.
