A Milton officer attempted to stop a gray SUV without taillights on Parkview Drive about 3:30 a.m. last Tuesday but it took off. Less than ten-minutes later the officer was investigating a report of a gray SUV hitting a house on Plumb Street. About 6:30 in the morning a vehicle was report stolen on Brown Drive in Milton, and about 7:00 a.m. another vehicle was reported stolen on Parkview Drive. Both vehicles had been left unlocked with their keys inside. One vehicle was found heavily damaged in Rockford, Illinois on Friday, and the other was found damaged in Freeport, Illinois Sunday. Police believe the suspects who hit the house stole both cars. They’re asking anyone with information to call.
