A St. Louis food packaging company acquires the Janesville thermoformed plastics company Panoramic Inc.

Panoramic president Rick Holznecht said in a press release he believes this move is the right thing for his company, employees and customers.

The local plastic manufacturer will be owned by Anchor Packaging LLC, which thinks Panoramic will expand their offering into more food markets.

“We share a joint heritage in that both of our companies were founded and operated as Midwestern-based, family-owned businesses for many years,” Holznecht said. “Anchor Packaging holds true to that same set of core values that we live by every day at Panoramic.”

Panoramic boasts its service in the bakery, confectionery, deli and produce industries. It claims to have grown at a double-digit annual rate over the last 14 years.

Anchor Packaging CEO Jeff Wolff said his company welcomes “all the Panoramic colleagues and customers to the Anchor Packaging family,” but the press release did not specify whether any local employees would be affected by the acquisition.

WCLO could not reach Panoramic officials Thursday night for clarification.
