KANDU Industries has officially opened their new sensory room after receiving a donation from SSM Health to help fund the project.

KANDU Client Services Director Julie Smith says the room is designed to create a sense of calm and stimulate exploration, learning, and development for individuals with sensory processing disorders or cognitive and learning disabilities.

SSM Community Health Educator Megan Timm says they have a long history of working with KANDU, and once they realized they could help to project through a donation it was absolutely something they wanted to do.

The room includes a number of features like a tactile stimulation board, adult sized bean bag chairs, and a solar projector.
