Nearly 100 Ice Age Trail volunteers will converge on Milton starts Wednesday to build an 850 foot board walk on a portion of the trail.
Trail Operations Coordinator Patrick Gleissner says the boardwalk replaces a section of the trail which runs through Storrs Lake State Wildlife Area and will feature three bump outs for wildlife viewing.
Gleissner says this portion of the trail is prone to flooding which can sometimes lead to the trail being closed for long periods of time, and planning for the project has been in the works for more than four years.
The trail will remain open during work, but it will fully re-open when construction is done Sunday.
