Rock County’s Health Services Committee could OK a $79,000 consultant’s analysis of the county’s beleaguered Rock Haven nursing home.

The study by a Minnesota group would be aimed at improving Rock Haven’s financial and operational plans. That includes a look at whether an employee pay scale and staffing model is sustaining the necessary workforce at the nursing home.

It would come as an influx of federal dollars for medicaid repayments has prompted the county to more closely review how Rock Haven spends money and handles day-to-day management of the nursing home.

The Health Services Committee could green light the study at a meeting Wednesday. Rock Haven faces continued money and staffing woes. That includes complaints some nursing care staff are working 18-hour to 20-hour shifts.

The committee also will consider rules that could require Rock Haven to post any state or federal regulatory violations to the county website within 90 days.
